Witchcraft Paraphernalia - Insects

While many may think that using creepy crawly things is just what Hollywood has portrayed in cinema for effect, many witches use what's around them to help with their own intentional energy. This practice has long been honored. Whether it's keeping a scorpion carcass in your purse because you want to better stand up for yourself or place a jumping spider beside a candle in spell work to add to your energy, we do use insects in our practice. At least I do, Please note that all insects that I use were acquired ethically.

Backyard Possibilities - January

Part 1 of a series

My backyard was once a sand field, and it hasn't lost its identify as such. I walked outside my back door recently in January. There are things a-growing. There are several kinds of "weeds" that are starting to sprout. Now, granted these are the ones that are happy in South Texas, but they can be found elsewhere. In a short video clip, I will show you some of what is out there right now. I'll do this once a month. I would like to chronicle some of the changes throughout the year.

Witchcraft Paraphernalia - Animals

Witchcraft has long used animals in practices and rituals. As an integral part of our world, animals can be incorporated easily into your own practice. I use animals and their parts in spell work, as well as talismans and symbols. I do not associate myself perse with a particular creature. If you do, you might be inclined to use the animal to enhance your own practice. I have some favorites that I have collected and/or used in my practice.

P.S. I treat familiars differently than other animals. Yes, they contribute to and enhance your practice, but familiars are usually living and tend to hang around you more than once. I know that sounds weird, but so true. More on Familiars in the Articles section.
